White Water Rafting options on the Ganges

Rafting day trips
Rafting a specific section of a river that concludes within a day is known as day trip.
In a day trip the camps are fixed at one location and it is more like doing a check-in into a resort. You go out to do rafting and return back to the camp for the overnight stay.

Where to stay during day trips?
Normally people who come over to Rishikesh do a specific section of rafting; they choose one of the following modes of accommodation around. (a) River side camps (b) Resorts (c) Hotels

Multi day rafting expeditions
Rafting expeditions are multi day rafting trips in which there are no fixed camps, all the gear and logistics needed for survival (like dome tents, kitchen, sleeping bags, personal belongings) are carried in cargo rafts along with other rafts.

Where do we stay during the expedition?
In expeditions we stay in dome tents provided with sleeping bags and ground mats. It is not as luxurious as the river side camp but this is the best possible arrangement considering "completely self supported" nature of the trip.
